How Crazy is an 800 hp Production Jeep?

December 25th, 2011 • Written by david grubman.

How Crazy is an 800 hp production Jeep

Hennessey has announced limited production of an 805 hp Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 for 2013. Not sure that’s the crazy part. I think the crazy part is the $235,000 expected price tag. So for the $235,000 price tag you get a beefy ass 7.0 liter engine hooked up with twin turbo chargers, lowers the suspension, 20 inch wheels, some carbon finber body work and upgrades the brakes. The resulting performance is 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. That is fast as hell for a Jeep.

They are hoping to produce a couple of dozen for 2013.

Jeep Beach 2012 Dates announced

Details are somewhat incomplete right now but the organizers of Jeep Beach has announced their dates for the 2012 event. It will be help April 25-29 2012 in Daytona Beach Florida.

Mid Florida Jeep club is the proud host of the largest Jeep only event in the southeast. Its five days of Jeep fun for novice and hardcore wheelers alike. Past year they had 750 jeeps, 50 vendors showed up and they raffled off over $40K work of prizes (including some stuff from California Jeep Authority). 2012 is on its way to be even bigger and better.

Why do we wear Jeep Shirts?

December 4th, 2011 • Written by david grubman.

Why we wear Jeep shirts

An interesting thought crossed my mind during my travels this week. Why do we wear Jeep shirts?

This does not only apply to Jeep shirts, but it also applies to Jeep hats, Jeep sweatshirts and anything else we put on our bodies that has a picture of a Jeep on it or the Jeep name. Why do we wear this stuff? We wear these things for the same reason people wear their “pretty kitty” stuff.

Pretty picture

Your Jeep shirts have great pictures of great Jeeps. Same applies to your Toyota Offroad Racing shirts, your Hummer shirts, or your Bronco shirts. The pictures of the vehicles look cool. It’s really that simple.

Reminds us of our adventures

Our Jeep was with us on many of the great adventures of our life (or it should be). Wearing your Jeep gear (or the shirts from the events you have attended), reminds us of the fun we have had on some long past outing. Remember Camp Jeep 2001? Not sure if you remember the details, but you got the shirt!

Identify with the brand

Every brand has a personality. We all know what venerable brands like Cadillac or Lexus stand for. Likewise, we know what Jeep stands for. Jeep represents Freedom, Rugged, capable, fun, adventurous. The list is long. Personally we want to project that we are those things. WE ARE rugged, adventurous, fun and certainly capable.

Wear your Jeep stuff in good health. When you do think about getting Jeep stuff, we hope you think of California Jeep Authority.
